How to Replace Windows on a DNS Server
Replacing the Windows operating system on your dedicated DNS server enables you to enjoy the additional features of a new and upgraded operating system, or enables you to return to an older, preferred OS. Accomplish this by performing a full reinstallation of your chosen Windows operating system, a procedure that generally takes between 30 to 60 minutes.

Step 1
Insert the Windows Server installation CD into your DNS server.
Step 2
Restart the server. Press any key when prompted to boot from CD.
Step 3
Press "Enter" at the setup welcome screen and "F8" to accept the license terms.
Step 4
Highlight the partition containing your current operating system and press "Enter" to replace it with your chosen Windows Server system.
Step 5
Enter your computer name, date, time zone, product key, IP information, password and domain/workgroup information to complete the replacement.
