How to Find Domains
A domain on the Web is a hierarchy of network addresses. At times, if you are creating a Web identity for a business or an individual, you will want to know if certain domains are available that would match your endeavor. You may also want to find a domain to learn who is operating a website. There are several simple ways on the Web to find this information.

Step 3
Open a browser and go to the Whois.net website (see Resources). Use the fields and drop-down menus to search for the owner of a domain, whether a domain is available, domains that match a keyword and deleted domains. Click the "Go" button associated with the option that you choose. The next page will render information about purchasing the domain or who owns the domain.
