How to Create Your Own Email With a Custom Domain Name
If you are not familiar with a lot of technical jargon or know-how, you may find the task of creating your own email and domain name to be intimidating. In truth, creating a domain name and email is easy. Most people create a domain name in order to create a website. A name such as ehow.com is the domain name. If you don't want the hassle of creating a website, but simply want the email address, it is possible to simply register a domain name without having to create a website.
Instructions
Difficulty:
Step 1
Look for a company that registers domain names. You will have to pay a small fee for your custom domain name. Choose a company to register with.
Step 2
Type the domain name you want to purchase. The site will take the name and perform a search to see if it is already taken. If it is already taken, you will have to slightly change the name and perform another search. If the name is not taken, you can go ahead and purchase the domain name.
Step 3
Search for an email option in your domain account. Click on "email" to set up your customized email address. It will prompt you to enter the email address you wish to create. The process takes anywhere from three to five minutes. Your customized email should start working immediately after set-up.
Step 4
Go into your new customized email account to make any changes you wish. You can create folders and add contacts. Test out your account by emailing a friend. Ask for a response from your friend.
