How Do You Get a DNS for an iPod?
DNS, or Domain Name System, is what connects devices such as the iPod Touch or the iPhone to the Internet. These devices, however, do not automatically come with a DNS. A user can install an application to add a DNS. You will then be able to access the DNS of your mobile device and find the Internet provider address as well. From here, it is easy to use your mobile device to access the Internet.

Step 1
Connect the USB cable to the power source on the bottom of your iPod. Connect the other end of the cord to any open USB port on your computer. ITunes should then automatically open on your computer.
Step 2
Choose "iTunes Store," which will be on the left side of your computer screen. Click on "App Store." Then use the search function to find "DNS Lookup." This will bring you to the DNS Lookup App.
Step 3
Select "Download" and the app will begin downloading onto your computer.
Step 4
Choose your iPod under the "My Devices" section of your computer. Click on "Applications." Select the box next to the "DNS Lookup" App. Click "Sync." The DNS Lookup application will now be available on your iPod.
Step 5
Turn on your iPod and choose the "DNS Lookup" icon. You are now able to search for and list your mobile device's DNS and IP address.
