How Do I Sell Domain Names?
Domain investing can be very lucrative if you know what you are doing. However, unlike investing in things like gold, commodities, or the stock market, the risk is usually fairly small, since domains can be purchased cheaply. There are also plenty of places to sell domain names such as forums, registrars, and even eBay.
Instructions
Difficulty:
Step 1
Go to eBay. This is a good place to start because it doesn't cost much to list a domain, and you can set a reserve bid, which allows you to keep the domain if the bidding doesn't reach the specified amount.
Step 2
Go to DNForum.com. This is a forum for experienced domain sellers. You will probably not get as much money here as you can at other sites, since this forum is frequented by bargain hunters who are also trying to sell their domains. However, if you are just looking to flip a domain quickly, this is a good place to start, since there are always lots of people looking for a bargain.
Step 3
Go to a listing service. A few that you can consider are Sedo, Afternic, and Moniker. These are sites that will allow you to list your domain names for a fee. This is where many businesses that aren't savvy in domain names will go to purchase a name. This usually translates into higher prices. However, all these sites have $20 listing fees, as of 2010, and take a percentage of the sale, usually up to 20 percent.
