How Do I Renew an Expired Domain Name?
The purchase of a domain name is not something you do once and then never again. A domain name is like a subscription, and it must be renewed or it will expire. If your domain name has expired, your hosting service will hang onto your information for an indefinite period of time (this time will vary depending on the service used) so that you can still have the opportunity to renew your domain name without losing the contents of your website.
Instructions
Difficulty:
Step 1
Open your Web browser. Visit the main website of the company that is providing you with domain-hosting services.
Step 2
Log into your account by clicking on the "Sign In" or "Log In" button (whichever is present on your particular site). Type your user name and user password into the boxes to be taken to your account page.
Step 3
Click on "My Account" if your domain-hosting service redirects you to a general log-in page as opposed to your account page.
Step 4
Click "Renew." Select the period of time you want to renew your expired domain for. (Most services let you renew in periods of six months or multiple years.)
Step 5
Enter your credit or debit charge card information and click "Renew." Once your renewal fee is processed, your website should return live on the Internet.
